I watched 'Mood indigo' which is my favourite movie. It feels different every time I watch it. There are lots of attractive points such as colours, mood, music, characters, props and scenes.  Also Michel Gondry, who is director of this movie, express the scenes by colours such as vivid, pastel, mono, colourless. As such, the mood of scene also changed. So this movie inspired lots of things to me. 

I watched Code kunst’s new song “Flower”. He is very trendy and unique composer and music producer in Korea. This song’s theme is ‘Life is like a flower’. People live in the beginning and the end with flowers. When we leave this world, we also take flowers. Scenes of this music video with flowers are so beautiful and sophisticated. Their scenes and story inspired me to adjust to my work. 

I found Alice Kettle's work at 'COLLECT: art fair'. She did hand and machine stitch on printed fabric and her works were interesting and elaborate. So I found a video file of her working. I have never tried stitching with machine. It looks interesting and want to try to do. So when I come back to my home, I really hope to try to do. 

I wanted to make interesting materials and use contrast materials to express my theme for this project. So I used yarn coated with glue and crocheted and knitted with wool and cotton yarn. I originally wanted to see more sharply contrast and neat effect however it was hard to make like that. Because yarn coated with glue was bumpy. So next time, I would like to make samples in higher quality.   

Actually I have some problem to do my work because it is hard to get materials recently. So I decided to adjust samples on the body using photoshop. I made 4 styles of clothes and focused the frame which means 'expectation'. Also after quarantine, I am planning to print the pattern which will be made by shapes from my happy moment and adjust polydoh mouldable plastic string on the fabric. I will make 2D dress with front and back side pattern. And I will make the outline with that string on the backside and stitched with that string on the frontside. So backside will express me in the past with expectation and frontside will express me in the present and future for happiness.

We are in unexpected situation now and many people are in quarantine at their house. So I expressed this moment with the line of polydoh mouldable plastic. I originally wanted to make real size of line sample for applying to the wall but my materials were not enough to make it. So I made small size of sample and adjusted to the my room and corridor pictures using photoshop. Lines mean the expectation and the doors mean exit for ‘Happiness’. And this pictures mean ‘breaking the frame’.

I adjusted the polydoh moldable plastic with washing line sample to the body. I added the shape from my drawing and repeated with the sample for making pattern. Also I enlarged this sample and separated the the polydoh lines and knitted washing line. And then I adjusted to the body also I am planning to make real garment sample using this illustration.

I pick some shapes and lines from happy moments’ drawing and did mark-making using them with Posca pen. Also I pick some of them and made sample using wool yarn, cotton yarn and polydoh moldable plastic with them. I expressed dot, line and face with different colours and textures.   

I would like to make new sample for body. So I made line with the polydoh mouldable plastic and knitting sample with cotton yarn. Also I made small size of dress shape with cotton fabric and adjusted this sample on the fabric using photoshop. I would like to show contrast texture and colour in harmony.
